Let The Wine Academy take the stress out of your next corporate or group event.
We can take care of the organisation so you can relax and socialise with your guests.
Our wine tasting events are a great way to entertain clients, reward staff, enjoy a family get together or encourage team building. The events can be as formal or relaxed as you wish but are always informative and memorable.
We will work within your timescale, budget and objectives to make sure that the event goes to plan.
Unlike many wine tasting event organisers we don’t sell wine so your guests will not be pressurised into buying anything.
How does it work?
- We will provide the wine, tasting notes, glassware and spittoons
- The The Wine Academy team will be on hand to host the event, answer questions and make sure that your guests are having a good time.
- Our team are all Wine and Spirit Education Trust qualified.
- Our events last between 90 minutes and 3 hours.
- We will endeavour to work within your budget, however as a general guide for a group of 20 or more a budget of £22 per person will allow you to enjoy a glass of good quality sparkling wine followed by a tasting of 8 good quality wines .If you wish to ‘trade up’ a budget of £27 will allow your guests to enjoy a glass of Premier Cru Champagne followed by a tasting of 8 premium wines such as Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc and Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
What do you have to do?
All you have to do is set a date, provide a venue and draw up a guest list.
If you need help finding a venue please give us a call we can usually suggest somewhere suitable. Similarly, we work with local caterers should you wish us to organise the catering on your behalf.
If you would prefer to come to us, our training room in central Harrogate is available for small groups of up to 20 boardroom style or up to 35 for a walk round event. We can provide catering if required.

Each event is unique which is why we prefer to speak to you in person rather than put together off the shelf packages.
Tutored Tasting
For smaller groups i.e. under 20, or where you will be tasting wine over dinner a more formal tasting may be preferable. We will liaise with the restaurant or caterer to make sure that the wines are perfect for your meal.
Introduction to Wine
This is a good way to introduce guests to tasting technique i.e. find out what all the sniffing and slurping is about and learn about the classic grape varieties of the world.
Champagne and Sparkling Wine
Can you tell vintage from non vintage Champagne or New World fizz from European? Did you know that English sparkling wines are among the finest in the world? You will be surprised at how different sparkling wines from around the world can be.Price guide £25pp for 15 people for a truly fun, fizzy and sparkling experience.
Wine Tasting Quiz
This is a great bonding session and a wonderful way to entertain clients. We will welcome you with a glass of Champagne before explaining the rules of the evening. In teams of 4 or 5 and armed with some ‘top tips’ you have a limited amount of time to work out which are the expensive wines, the oldest wines and the New World wines. The wines are revealed at the end of the evening and prizes awarded to the winning team.
Chocolate and Wine Tasting
Working with a local chocolatier we discover the history of chocolate and make some surprising but delicious combinations from white chocolate dipped strawberries with rose to chilli chocolate with Shiraz. Price guide £25pp for 15 or more.
Call My Wine Bluff
Are you a wine buff or a wine bluff?
Entertain larger groups with a vinous call my bluff. Three people describe the wine in your glass but only one is telling the truth.
